Stop making excuses

We all make excuses from time to time. It's human nature. But when we make excuses, we're essentially saying that we're not good enough or that we are not capable of achieving our goals. And that's simply not true.

Everyone has the potential to achieve great things. But in order to do that, we need to stop making excuses and start taking action.

A typical excuse can be:

  1. I can't do it
  2. I don't have the time
  3. I am too busy
  4. No one is interested

Making Excuses

Do these examples look familiar to you? Maybe you caught yourself here and you made an excuse like these before well.

I surely did make excuses before! That is just human. The reasons can be different. They could be

  • "I don't want to watch that film."
  • "I prefer to stay at home today."
  • "I could actually work on my business to earn the extra income, but I would like a family day."
  • "I don't know what to do or how to get started."

To stop making excuses and to move forward with your goal, you have to ....

Identify your excuses: The first step to stopping making excuses is to identify them. What are the excuses you make often? Once you know what your excuses are, you can start to challenge them.

Challenge your excuses: When you catch yourself making an excuse, ask yourself if it's really true. Is there really a good reason why you can't do something? Or are you just making an excuse to avoid taking action?

Take responsibility: Once you have identified and challenged your excuses, it's time to take some responsibility. Accept that you are the only one who is responsible for your actions and your life.

Set goals: One of the best ways to stop making excuses is to set goals. When you have goals, you have something to work towards. And when you have something to work towards, you are less likely to make excuses.

Take action: Once you have set goals, it's time to take action! Don't just sit around and make excuses! Get up and do something!

Be accountable: Hold yourself accountable for your actions. Don't make excuses when you don't meet your goals. Learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward.

Celebrate your success

Here are some tips for Stopping Making Excuses:

Be honest with yourself. The first step to stopping making excuses is to be honest with yourself about why you are making them. Are you afraid of failure? Are you afraid of success? Once you know the reason why you are making excuses, you can start to address the underlying issue.

Don't compare yourself to others. One of the biggest reasons people make excuses is because they are comparing themselves to others. They see someone else who is successful and they think, "I could never do that." But the truth is, everyone starts somewhere. Everyone has to start at the bottom and work their way up. So don't compare yourself to others. Just focus on your own journey and your own goals.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you are struggling to stop making excuses, don't be afraid to ask for help. Talk to a friend, family member, therapist, or coach. They can help you identify your excuses and develop strategies for overcoming them.

Celebrate your successes. When you achieve a goal, take some time to celebrate your success. This will help you stay motivated and keep moving forward.

Don't give up. Making excuses is a habit, and like any habit, it takes time to break. Don't get discouraged if you slip up and make an excuse. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

Authenticity over Appearances - Why faking it won't take you far

Why Faking It Won’t Take You Far  These days, it’s easier than ever to pretend . Social media is full of perfect pictures, filtered faces, and now even AI can create an image of success that looks real… but isn't. But let’s be honest, anyone can fake things. What they can’t fake is the real stuff : Genuine growth True confidence Real success And real success? It takes effort , time , determination , and most importantly a vision . Because without a clear vision, it’s so easy to lose track. We start comparing ourselves to others. We get discouraged. We wonder if we’re doing enough, or if we even belong in this space.   Believe me, I’ve been there. When I started in VivaMK , I had no ready-made brand or fancy setup. Just a strong belief in what’s possible when you stay true to yourself. Over time, I built my own brands: The Front Row Team  - built on heart, hustle and helping others. The Mastermind Academy  -  created to empower, train and develop ...

Real Leadership isn't loud - it's Consistent

In the world of Network Marketing, it’s easy to get distracted by loud voices, those who show up only when it benefits them, make bold claims, or jump from opportunity to opportunity trying to look successful. But here’s the truth no one talks about enough: 👉 Real leadership doesn’t shout. Real leadership shows up. Consistently. Quietly. Reliably. It’s not about who can post the most attention-grabbing headline… It’s not about throwing around six-figure or seven-figure claims… It’s not about chasing the next big thing or building hype for short-term gain. It’s about who stays. It’s about who puts in the work day after day. It’s about the people who keep showing up for their customers, for their teams, and for their own goals, whether the spotlight is on them or not. The loudest person in the room isn’t always the most successful. Sometimes, it’s the person quietly helping others behind the scenes. The person building sustainable income, long-term stability, and genuine relationshi...

Being Fearless

Fear is a natural human emotion. It is an evolutionary adaptation that helps us stay safe from danger. However, fear can also hold us back from living our lives to the fullest. If you want to be fearless, you need to learn to manage your fear and not let it control you. Being fearless is not about never being afraid. It's about facing your fears head-on and pushing through, even when it feels uncomfortable. When you learn to manage fear, you open yourself up to new opportunities, experiences, and success. So don’t let fear stop you, BE FEARLESS   and go after your dreams ! Fear isn’t the only thing that can hold us back. Our weaknesses can, too. But instead of seeing them as limitations, we can use them as a way to grow. Every challenge, every setback, and every weakness we recognise is a chance to learn and become better.  The key is to step out of our Comfort Zone , push through the Fear Zone , move into the Learn Zone , and eventually reach the Growth Zone,  where ...
