Stop making excuses

We all make excuses from time to time. It's human nature. But when we make excuses, we're essentially saying that we're not good enough or that we are not capable of achieving our goals. And that's simply not true.

Everyone has the potential to achieve great things. But in order to do that, we need to stop making excuses and start taking action.

A typical excuse can be:

  1. I can't do it
  2. I don't have the time
  3. I am too busy
  4. No one is interested

Making Excuses

Do these examples look familiar to you? Maybe you caught yourself here and you made an excuse like these before well.

I surely did make excuses before! That is just human. The reasons can be different. They could be

  • "I don't want to watch that film."
  • "I prefer to stay at home today."
  • "I could actually work on my business to earn the extra income, but I would like a family day."
  • "I don't know what to do or how to get started."

To stop making excuses and to move forward with your goal, you have to ....

Identify your excuses: The first step to stopping making excuses is to identify them. What are the excuses you make often? Once you know what your excuses are, you can start to challenge them.

Challenge your excuses: When you catch yourself making an excuse, ask yourself if it's really true. Is there really a good reason why you can't do something? Or are you just making an excuse to avoid taking action?

Take responsibility: Once you have identified and challenged your excuses, it's time to take some responsibility. Accept that you are the only one who is responsible for your actions and your life.

Set goals: One of the best ways to stop making excuses is to set goals. When you have goals, you have something to work towards. And when you have something to work towards, you are less likely to make excuses.

Take action: Once you have set goals, it's time to take action! Don't just sit around and make excuses! Get up and do something!

Be accountable: Hold yourself accountable for your actions. Don't make excuses when you don't meet your goals. Learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward.

Celebrate your success

Here are some tips for Stopping Making Excuses:

Be honest with yourself. The first step to stopping making excuses is to be honest with yourself about why you are making them. Are you afraid of failure? Are you afraid of success? Once you know the reason why you are making excuses, you can start to address the underlying issue.

Don't compare yourself to others. One of the biggest reasons people make excuses is because they are comparing themselves to others. They see someone else who is successful and they think, "I could never do that." But the truth is, everyone starts somewhere. Everyone has to start at the bottom and work their way up. So don't compare yourself to others. Just focus on your own journey and your own goals.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you are struggling to stop making excuses, don't be afraid to ask for help. Talk to a friend, family member, therapist, or coach. They can help you identify your excuses and develop strategies for overcoming them.

Celebrate your successes. When you achieve a goal, take some time to celebrate your success. This will help you stay motivated and keep moving forward.

Don't give up. Making excuses is a habit, and like any habit, it takes time to break. Don't get discouraged if you slip up and make an excuse. Just pick yourself up and keep going.

Making excuses is a common habit, but it's one that you can break. By following the tips in this Mastermind Academy Blog post, you can start taking responsibility for your actions and achieve your goals.

These are typical questions I get asked.  The Mastermind Academy was born a while ago. In fact already last year, although I didn't give it a name. It got me thinking and I came up with "Mastermind Academy" . This is a kind of programme to help and support our members of the Front Row Team within the VivaMK Network. Out attendees of the MA (Mastermind Academy) learn or increase their knowledge about our  business and how to strengthen their business, whether they want to learn new skills about retailing online or offline, branding,  sponsoring, leadership skills, setting goals or to gaining more confidence in various areas within their business and overcoming any challenges. We all have challenges from time to time, but the secret is ....... to  overcome these and to learn from th...

Do You Stick to What You Say? Action Speaks Louder Than Words.

In the world of business, leadership, and personal growth, one of the most defining traits of success is integrity and fairness, doing what you say you will do and treating others with honesty and respect. We’ve all heard the phrase “actions speak louder than words,” but how many of us actually live by it? How often do we commit to something and truly follow through? Words Are Easy, Actions Take Commitment It’s easy to make promises, set goals, and declare our intentions. But without action, these words are just empty statements. In network marketing, personal development, and even our daily lives, people respect and follow those who don’t just talk about what they’re going to do but actually do it. Think about the leaders you admire. Are they the ones who constantly say, “I’m going to do this” but never take action? Or are they the ones who commit, show up, and make things happen? True leadership isn’t about making big claims; it’s about setting an example through consistent action an...

Focus, be willing to learn and accept that we may be have to work more hours, learn new skills and...
